As part of our activities, we, Recon B.V., registered in the Dutch trade register under number 06089191, may process personal data on you. In this statement, we will explain what personal data we collect and process, why we do so, what your rights are, and more. This privacy statement applies to all processing operations specified below where we are the data controller.
A. What personal data on you we process, and why
We process your personal data when we provide services to you or your company, when we ship products to you or receive products from you on behalf of one of our customers, and whenever you contact us for another reason, such as when you consider using one of our services. In the following, we will explain for each situation what personal data we process and for what purpose.
Personal data on customers
If you are a customer of ours, or your company is, we may process the following data on you:
- name
- address
- telephone number
- email address
- gender
- VAT number
- Chamber of Commerce or other registration number
- customer number
- payment details
- services we provide to you
- and any further personal data that you submit to us of your own accord
The purpose of this processing is to be able to provide our services to you, send you our invoices, collect payment on these invoices, keep financial records, and send you commercial communications. In this case, we process your data to be able to perform our contracts with you or make any preparations required for that, or because we are legally obligated to do so, or on account of our legitimate business interests.
Personal data on other business parties
If we ship products to you or your company or receive products from you or your company on behalf of one of our customers, such as when your supplier is a customer of ours, we may process the following personal data on you:
- name
- address
- telephone number
- email address
- gender
- and any further personal data submitted to us by you or our customer
The purpose of this processing is to be able to provide our services to our customer. In this case, we process your data either because we are legally obligated to do so or on account of our legitimate business interests. Our interest is to correctly perform contracts with our customers.
Personal data on others who contact us
If you contact us, we may process the following personal data on you:
- name
- telephone number
- email address
- and any further personal data that you submit to us of your own accord
The purpose of this processing is to provide you with information about our services. In this case, we process your personal data to either be able to perform our contracts/fulfil our agreements with you or make any preparations required for that or on account of our legitimate business interests.
Aside from the purposes mentioned above, we may also process your personal data to the extent that this is reasonably necessary to meet our administrative obligations, as well as to be able to bring claims or defend ourselves against claims. Such processing operations are conducted either on account of our legitimate business interests or because we are legally obligated to undertake such processing.
If you opt not to provide any of the details mentioned above that we request, we will not be able to provide you the service or the service will not be up to the same quality standard.
We do not use automated individual decision-making.
B. Transfer to third parties
We will keep transfers of your personal data to third parties to an absolute minimum. In our business operations, we use the services of third parties. In some cases, this may involve us sharing your personal data with these third parties. However, we will never transfer more personal data to such third parties than they need to perform their contracts for us. Examples of such third parties include suppliers, sub-contractors and package delivery services.
We may be required to transfer personal data to third parties based in countries outside the European Union. The level of protection afforded to personal data in these countries may not be as high as that in the European Union. In such cases, we use standard contract provisions and other safeguards to guarantee the best possible protection of your personal data. Finally, we may be legally obligated to disclose personal data to third parties, such as a government agency or a court of law.
C. Retention period
We will not retain your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes mentioned above or to meet our legal obligations. Please bear in mind that we are required by law to retain certain data concerning orders for at least seven years for tax reasons.
D. Personal data security
We have implemented appropriate organisational and technical measures to prevent loss and unlawful processing of personal data.
E. Your rights
Over the period that we process your personal data, you have the right to request access to the personal data on you that we process. If the personal data we have on file for you turns out to be incorrect, incomplete or no longer relevant, you can request that we rectify or erase the personal data. You also have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, and you can withdraw any consent you have given for the processing of your personal data. F. Cookies
To ensure that our website functions properly, we use functional cookies to store language preferences. This way, you will not have to select your language every time you visit our website. We use these cookies on account of our legitimate interests. After all, it is in our interest that you be able to use a well functioning website.
